13 BLOCK
French rap clique 13 Block hail directly from Sevran-Beaudottes, in Paris.
The collective is composed by four main members Sidikeey, Stavo, Zefor and Zed.
Unmistakably influenced by the sonic tropes of Chicago Drill and ATL trap, 13 Block detail street life situations and violent themes throughout their body of work.
Their aforementioned home neighbourhood also constitutes, as it often does with more gritty rap music, somewhat of a Leitmotiv.
Their French influences include: Alkpote, Alpha 5.20, Escobar Macson, Mac Tyer, la Mafia K’1Fry, Nessbeal and Seth Gueko.
All these subjects and influences are normally conveyed throw aggressive, even shouted vocals laid over hard beats, makingtheir whole style uncompromising and realistic.
"13 Block", their prominent self-titled tracks, showcases all these characteristics.
Their first release as 13 Block was wit the 2014 project "XIII", which was released as a free download on DatPiff.
From there on out, the clique would engage in a collaborative streak, working with Kaaris in 2015, on the track "Le Vie Sauvage" off his album "Le Bruit De Mon âme".
After various collaborations with other big French rappers such as Ninho, they released the mixtape "Violence Urbaine Emeute" with the featuring of Gino Marley on the track "Implication".
2017 would mark the beginning of a more professional approach with video and other accompanying material, peaking in 2018 with the release of the commercially acclaimed "Triple S", bringing 13 Block to the forefront of the French scene.
Their latest release is the 2019 album "BLO", which can be considered as their first official studio album.
13 Block have, with consistent output and a real demeanor, probably become one of the most famous French groups right now, and it seems likely for their hype to only grow.
