An emerging rapper from France, 8Ruki’s coloured aesthetic and energy has already made a mark in the French rap scene. He began his career in 2018, with the single “Roi De Ronces”, which he released with a video on WStreet Undeground Channel: a French platform for music videos and vlogs. He continued to drop singles such as “Phosphore”, “Rust” and “Matrix” throughout the whole year, along with many successful YouTube videos, and 2019, with the drop of his first official project “Steam”, and singles such as “Hitchcock”, “Rose” and the most recent “Final Boss”, was probably his most prolific year. Ruki’s career has not been very long, yet, in only a few years, he has developed a singular character and style. His sound is American orientated, with up-tempo beats built on 808s and trippy synths, and autotuned vocals and triplet flows, imbuing his tracks with an irresistible bounce and unique atmosphere. His videos, often directed by Stanko, have hugely contributed to his success by combining his upbeat tracks with a psychedelic aesthetic and special effects, uniting music and visuals in one unique, magnetic product. In only a few years, 8Ruki’s passion and vision have already made him someone to watch out for, and his unique moves and style promise more success to come.
