KRISY

Krisy is undoubtedly one of Belgium’s best known artists, and has managed to renew its sound while staying faithful to its musical past. Influenced by classical rap and artists such as Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole, his beats are sampled and conform to classical rap by preferring real or acoustic drums over the use of synthesisers. Vocally, Krisy’s 90s’ influenced rap distinguishes him from modern mumble rap, and his flows, often quiet and never too forced, are always controlled and developed into real rap tracks. His extensive career began in 2014, with his first single “Wake Up”, which was followed by “Aucune Emotion” (2017) a few years later. 2018 saw the release of “Champagne Mojito”, “Nice” and “Je Rule”, succeeded by “Check” and “Horse De Ma Vue” in 2019. Krisy’s first official album “Paradise D’Amour” marked the year 2020, and featured a collaboration with Cloe Mailly, his only relevant one to date. His music videos are skillfully crafted to ensure the shots reflect the mood of the track, and the production of his songs is often entrusted to producers such as De La Fuentes, Ponko and Ozhora Miyagi. This year, he also participated in the “Colors” format, which can be found on YouTube. Krisy’s fusion of modern beats and classical rap distinguishes him as a strong, unique artist, who, with only one released album, is sure to go far in the coming years and continue standing out.
