STEVE LEAN
In the last years Steve Lean has exhibited amounts of growth in talent and exposure that is rarely witnessed.
The 1996-born Spanish producer has a long list of projects and songs produced by him that made his name and sound household. To list his catalogue is probably a futile exercise if we want to be even slightly efficient with time, as it is extensive to say the least. What one can talk about is the people and collaborators that have characterised his upwards trajectory. Lean lives a sort of double life when it comes to handling records, as his career has been split between "on-wax" production and DJ'ing. In the ladder category, the Spaniard has been able to attract enough attention to appear in electronic music festivals/events such as "Sonar" and "Boiler Room".
When it comes to the former category (on-wax production) from his first productions with spanish clique “PXXR GVNG", now "LOS SANTOS", Steve has always provided a trap production style based on trippy synths and bouncy drums, derived from - or at least inspired by - American producers like Lex Luger and Mike Will Made It.
Other than for Spanish rappers like Los Santos and Yung Beef, Steve also produced for a sizeable amount of international artists like worldwide stars J. Balvin and Fuego, as well as the American rapper and one third of the Migos, Offset.
Steve Lean was ultimately rewarded for his consistency and quality by being recruited by the American production team 808 MAFIA, which is probably one of the biggest co-signs a European trap producer could achieve.
His latest release is his collaborative LP with Sticky M.A, titled "5TA DIMENSION", another noteworthy Spanish artist from the industry. Given the general trend that Steve Lean's career has taken, and it being undoubtedly an upward trend, it is going to be exciting for anyone to witness the continuation of his hustle.
