WOODIE SMALLS

Known for his many singles and videos, Belgian artist Woodie Smalls has been consistently creating new territories in the European rap scene. His style is extremely unique: he tends to rap on both classic instrumental tunes and jazz and chill beats, reinventing classical elements of black music in innovative styles, that recall artists like Kendrick Lamar. His long and versatile career started in 2015, with the release of his debut single and video “Champion sound”, which several Belgian radio stations, including Studio Brussel and MNM, made their favourite track of the week. His first official album “Soft Parade”, his only project to date, was also released that year. The singles “Planet Shrooms” and “Lucky Strikes” followed in 2016, and the year 2017 marked his career, with the release of “REEFA”, in collaboration with K1D, and his most famous tracks: “Problems” and “Tokyo Drift”. Woodie kept dropping new singles, among which: “"Never Trust Again", "Pending" and the latest "What Typa Time", released in 2020. Every new song displays the new ways in which he combines funk, jazz, soul and classical rap in one unique sound. To this day, Woodie hasn’t collaborated with many artists, but his unique approach to music and dedication to innovation will undoubtedly earn him big features over the next few years, and a place among Europe's top artists.
