YOZEF

Dutch MC Yozef has been making a name for himself in the Netherlands, thanks to his hard-hitting sound.

Having started his career relatively recently, namely in 2018, Yozef immediately delivered solid solo and collaborative material alike, like his single "Vandaag", featuring Victoire and Rento, and "One Time", produced by himself and featuring Giorrworldboss.

This consistency of output would carry onto the next year, with the publication of the singles "Never Switch" with Gucci Ghost, "Je M'Appelle" with Jagu, "Slime Shit" and "Friends".

In addition to this wealth of bite-sized music, the artist would also deliver his first official debut project: "Tijd Tikt".

Introducing his audience to his now trademark style of hard-hitting, dark and fat trap instrumentals, on which he employs his deep timbre, punctuated by slightly melodic tones, Yozef was able to attract enough attention for a continually interesting continuation of his career.

This style, which takes heavy influence from Modern American trap music as well as UK Drill, positions the Dutchman as an artist who is particularly good at tracking popular trends. We say this given the pervasive nature of trap, which has been the dominant flavour of hip-hop in the last decade, and its recent incorporation of UK Drill influences, in the form of New York Drill, which is a style that is starting to inform many artists' sound, at home and abroad.

Having said all this, this stylistic advantage, as well as his tendency to collaborate with other compatriots (e.g. Justa, DSG and Saucy), shows that Yozef is looking more and more like one of the great Dutch, and even European, musical promises to look out for.
